About Whitney

Whitney Buckendorf
Birthworker & Birth Justice Advocate

Whitney came to birthwork through the path of social work, bringing with them a deep commitment to justice, relationship, and care. They became a doula during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic—a time when many birthing people had to labor without the presence of their partners or loved ones. In response, Whitney launched their practice to offer grounded, affirming support in a moment of profound need.

Today, Whitney draws on a wide spectrum of skills—including birth and postpartum support, herbal nourishment, placenta encapsulation, training and education, policy advocacy, and birth assisting. Their work is rooted in the belief that empowered birth is not only transformative on an individual level—it is also foundational to building a more liberated world.
